About Us

Welcome to Trinity Lutheran Church (ELCA). Whether you are looking for a church home or are just visiting the area and need a place to worship, please come and visit us. We would love to have you join us as we celebrate our relationship with God by hearing God’s Word and singing God’s praises!

Trinity Lutheran Church is an ELCA Lutheran Church that was incorporated in 1947. It moved into its current location at the corner of Midland and Lone Star in 1969 with the present sanctuary being completed in 1982. Serving the community has always been a focus at Trinity. During the 1990s, Trinity dedicated part of its land to Mercy Housing to build affordable housing. In 2015 Trinity acquired the 16 single family homes from Mercy and established Trinity New Hope.  Currently, the church has a community garden to provide food for food banks, shelters, and help others in need. The congregation has about 200 members.

Trinity Lutheran is a place to gather, refresh the faithful, and reach out with word and service to all others through the Holy Gospel

Guiding Principles

  1. God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
  2. Preach and teach the Good News to everyone
  3. Witness your faith through actions and words
  4. Accept and welcome all people

Nampa Lutherans

There are a variety of Lutheran traditions represented in the city of Nampa.  We share a belief in the Triune God, an acceptance of the Lutheran Confessions as the true teachings of biblical faith, the sacraments of baptism and communion, and the belief in justification by grace through faith.  Our worship services are also very similar.

ELCA Lutherans believe that the Bible encourages full participation by women in the life of the church and we practice open communion, which means communion is available to everyone.

We are a Thriving Church of the ELCA

Vicar Aaron Carr

Vicar Aaron Carr

Vicar Aaron was born in Texas and raised in California and Washington. He has a B.A. in English Writing from Pacific Lutheran University with one year at BSU, and his M. Div. is from Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA.

While attending CDSP he helped bring Easton Hall Conference Center and the entire CDSP Property and Management, rental, and inventory system from paper based to Excel based and then into an integrated software suite that would allow future student employees to manage. He also worked with the NPO City of Refuge in San Francisco and Oakland fighting against urban desertification and alienation through empowering those served to serve others. In Nampa both before and after Seminary Aaron worked with Grace Episcopal Church on outreach to Farmway Village in Caldwell through a weekly Misson, Summer Art classes that reintroduced 2nd and 3rd generation children to the cultural art of different groups from their country of origin, and an “Adventure Club” giving youth a weekly opportunity to take a free trip to explore the natural beauty of Idaho. In 2024 Aaron had his first opportunity to volunteer at Learning Peace Camp, teaching conflict resolution, media awareness, and environmental stewardship.

When Pastor Barbra Condon retired in December of 2024 Trinity Lutheran Church became Aaron’s first call.

Aaron’s hobbies are reading, tabletop roleplaying games with friends or family, watching anime, and strategy or RPG videogames. He enjoys watching Chinese dramas with his wife Jessica, going on family trips, and spending time with Jessicas’ extended family who all live in or near the Treasure Valley. Jessica works as the Risk Analyst for the Administration Department for the State of Idaho, Director of Learning Peace Camp, and recently started a side gig long arm quilting as Garage Quilter. Qin, his eldest daughter, attends Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington pursuing a B.S. in Geology. She is fiercely independent. Maxwell, his younger son, attends Elevate Academy in Caldwell and is considering a career in Library Science. He is creative and empathetic. At ages 19 and 18 respectively, Qin and Maxwell are working on their new relationship as co-adults with us.
